RV + dark skies
Northern lights by region
The aurora is the one trip you can't put on a schedule — it's driven by geomagnetic activity and needs a clear, dark, moonless sky. But you can stack the odds: get to a dark-sky park in season and watch the NOAA Space Weather forecast. Here's where to point the rig by region, honestly — Alaska is the closest thing to a sure bet; the lower-48 spots are real but occasional.
