Europe to USA — RV trip planning bridge
You can fly into an American city, collect a motorhome, and be parked under the Tetons two days later. This section works out the parts Europeans actually get stuck on — whether your licence is enough, what the fortnight really costs, when to come, and how different the driving is.

Before the itinerary
Four things Europeans ask us first
Can I drive on my own licence?
In most states a valid home-country licence in roman characters is accepted for a short visit. An International Driving Permit is recommended rather than usually required — carry one if you have it. Rules are set state by state, so check the states on your route.
What does it really cost?
Across these 50 routes the on-the-ground estimate runs $2,700 to $6,800 for two adults — that is the rig, campgrounds, fuel and groceries for 10 to 28 days. Flights sit on top at roughly $600 to $1,200 return.
When should I come?
It splits by region, not by country. Northern parks run July to September and some roads stay shut until June. The desert south-west and Florida are at their best from November to April, which is exactly when Europe is coldest.
How different is the driving?
Right-hand side, automatic gearboxes as standard, and distances that read shorter on a map than they drive. The rig is wider, taller and longer than anything you drive at home — the first hour is the whole learning curve.
Editorial guidance, not legal or immigration advice. Entry rules and licence recognition are set by the U.S. government and by individual states — verify with the U.S. Embassy in your country of citizenship before you book anything.

When you are ready for the rig
What the search will show you today
Straight answer, because you would be booking transatlantic flights around it: PickRV is open across the US, and the map is still filling in. In several of the states on this page you will find few or no rigs listed right now. Search is worth a look to see the real state of a corridor — it is not yet worth planning a fortnight around.
When there is a rig to book, the owner keeps their full nightly price, and you pay a separate 10% service fee that is shown to you before you pay — never discovered at the end.
One-way corridors
Fly open-jaw? Pick up in one city, drop in another
Land in one city, fly home from another, and let the rig cover the middle. One corridor from each region below; each host sets their own one-way drop fee — you see the exact amount on the listing and at checkout before you book.
