When to come
Best time is late November through April: winter and early spring bring dry, mild weather (60–80°F) and far fewer mosquitoes.
Summer is hot and humid, and the official hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so plan around it and watch forecasts.
For visitors from abroad: distances are long but roads are flat and easy, so start with the Gulf coast or the Keys. Afternoon thunderstorms in summer are normal and usually brief.
