The mosquito calendar runs Everglades RV access, not the temperature. Flamingo Campground — at the southern end of the 38-mile main park road — accepts rigs up to 45 feet, with a mix of dry sites and 55 electric-only sites added after the 2018 rebuild. Long Pine Key Campground (closer to the entrance) is dry-camp only. Both loops effectively close to RV visitation between May and November when mosquito density indices published by NPS hit "hellish" — they're technically open year-round, but bookings collapse and most rigs decamp by 9pm. December through March is the operational season: dry, mid-80s, mosquito count manageable. Dumping is at Flamingo. Main Park Road handles any rig length; the side road to Eco Pond gets narrow at the marina turnaround.
