The Zion–Mt. Carmel Tunnel is the single hardest planning constraint for any RV trip in southern Utah. Any rig over 7'10" wide or 11'4" tall (mirror-to-mirror, antenna-to-pavement) triggers a $15 traffic-control fee and forces one-way escort through the 1.1-mile bore — and the schedule narrows in shoulder seasons. Watchman Campground accepts rigs up to 40 feet with electric-only hookups year-round; South Campground runs the same lengths without power, March through November. Both loops sit inside the shuttle-mandatory zone, meaning the campsite is your basecamp and the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is car-free seven months of the year. Dumping is on-site at Watchman. The Kolob Canyons section in the park's far northwest is the bypass for oversize rigs that can't risk the tunnel.

Bryce sits at 8,000 ft — bring antifreeze if you camp shoulder-season. Sunset Campground holds 40-ft rigs April through October, and any rig over 25 ft drops the trailer to reach Rainbow Point.
Canyonlands
Only two of Canyonlands' four districts accept RVs at all — Squaw Flat and Willow Flat, both 28-ft caps, no hookups, no water. Plan to dump at Arches or in Moab.
Arches
Devils Garden is the only campground inside Arches — 51 sites, year-round, max 40 ft. Campers don't need the timed-entry permit, but day-driving out then back in does.
Capitol Reef
Fruita Campground sits on the Fremont River floodplain — check the Capitol Reef–specific NWS forecast July through September and never enter Capitol Gorge or the Burr Trail with a rig.
