The mechanism
One booking, drawn to the cent.
Hosts keep 100% of the base price they set; PickRV adds a 15% markup on top of that base to form the listed price (10% for partner hosts — permanent, either by invitation from our team or automatically at 3+ active listings). Renters pay a separate 10% service fee at checkout, plus state tax — every line itemized before payment.
The host names a base price and receives that base. Our markup is added on top of it to form the listed price, never taken out of it — which is why the emerald line in the chart is the same height whether you read it from the host's side or the renter's.

If you're renting
Every dollar, before you pay one.
The price on the listing already includes our markup — there are no junk fees hidden between booking and payment. At checkout you also see a transparent 10% service fee and your state tax, each on its own line. Here is every dollar of a 2-night, $115/night booking:

If you own the rig
You name the number. You keep the number.
You set a base price and receive that base. PickRV's 15% markup is added on top to form the listed price — shown as one stable nightly rate, not a separate deduction on your payout. No listing fees, no monthly minimums. After a trip ends, your payout is released and funds typically reach your bank within 2–5 business days. On the same $115/night booking above, you receive your $200 base:

The owner sets $100/night and receives that base — the 15% commission is built into the listed price, not added as a separate line.

The 10% renter service fee ($23) is a separate line the renter pays at checkout — it is not taken from your payout. Across the booking, PickRV keeps $53 total (the $30 markup plus the $23 renter service fee).
No subscription, no monthly fee — and a lower rate for partner hosts.
Partner hosts carry a 10% markup instead of the standard 15% — for as long as they host with us, with no end date. The partner rate comes either with a personal invitation from our team, or automatically once you have 3 or more active listings.
One-way trips
Two hosts, one booking.
Pick up in New York, drop off in Florida. Two hosts work for you on one booking: the owner whose rig you drive, and the Florida team that receives and turns it around. The two hosts divide the $1,000 leg base between them. PickRV's 15% markup is added on top of that base. Here is how the displayed $1,150 rental is built:

The two hosts divide the $1,000 base between them ($900 + $100); our 15% markup ($150) sits on top of it. At checkout the renter also pays the transparent 10% service fee ($115 on the $1,150 displayed rental) plus state tax — so the renter pays $1265 before tax, and PickRV keeps $265 total (the $150 markup plus the $115 service fee). No reserve.
No reserve, no hidden fees
Honest answers.
There is no protection reserve skimmed from your booking. The only amounts on a trip are the rental price (the owner's base with our 15% markup on top), the visible 10% renter service fee at checkout, and state tax. PickRV is a marketplace, not an insurer.
PickRV does not sell or offer insurance coverage. Renters arrange their own coverage; hosts may carry their own commercial policies. PickRV is not an insurer.
- How does PickRV's markup work?

- Partner hosts carry a 10% markup instead of the standard 15% — for as long as they host with us, with no end date. The partner rate comes either with a personal invitation from our team, or automatically once you have 3 or more active listings.
- When do owners get paid?
- The payout is released after the trip wraps up, then funds typically reach the host's bank within 2–5 business days. Weekends and bank holidays can add time, and a first-ever payout can take longer while Stripe verifies the account.
- What about taxes — will I get a 1099-K?
- If your payouts cross the IRS reporting threshold, the payment processor issues a Form 1099-K for your earnings. PickRV does not withhold taxes and does not give tax advice — please talk to a tax professional about your situation.
