Cades Cove Campground sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains in the heart of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The 11-mile Cades Cove Loop Road passes by historic log cabins, churches, and grist mills — and is one of the best places in the park for wildlife viewing.
Wildlife: White-tailed deer, black bears, wild turkeys, and coyotes are regularly spotted on the loop road. Early morning and late evening offer the best viewing.
Nearby Trails: Abrams Falls Trail (5 miles round trip) leads to a stunning 20-foot waterfall. Rich Mountain Loop and Gregory Bald offer panoramic views.

Planning notes
Drive the loop early morning (before 8 AM) for the best bear and deer sightings.
Fall colors peak mid-to-late October. The valley is absolutely stunning.
