Calculator · pre-quote
True trip cost — every line, before checkout.
An itemized estimate of what an RV trip actually costs — rental rate + fuel + campground + cleaning + insurance bucket + host service fee + a state sales tax estimate. No bait-and-switch pricing: every line is named before checkout. Defaults pull EIA fuel, NPS / state DPR campground averages, and your supplied rig category. The number is an estimate, not a quote — your authoritative total comes from the listing page at checkout.

FAQ
Why is this still an estimate?+
We don't know your final host (their rate may differ from the input), your fuel price at trip time (national averages move daily), or which campgrounds you'll book (resort fees can be 2-3× national-park averages). The checkout step on a specific listing is the only authoritative quote.
How do PickRV's fees work here?+
PickRV's 15% markup on the host's base price (10% at the partner rate) is already built into the listed nightly rate, so there is no separate line for it on your bill. Renters pay a transparent 10% service fee on the rental subtotal, plus state tax, at checkout — both are included in the total above. The host-side commission input lets you model how a host's listed pricing would shift if their rate changed.
Why is insurance shown as a bucket instead of a real price?+
PickRV does not sell or offer insurance and is not an insurer. The bucket figures here are generic industry placeholder ranges so you can plan an order-of-magnitude — not a PickRV rate. You arrange coverage with your own licensed insurer, or rely on the host's own commercial policy. See /insurance/explained for the full disclosure.
Is the state sales tax field doing the right thing?+
It applies the percent you supply to the rental subtotal plus the campground subtotal (the line items most commonly taxable). Tax treatment of RV rental varies by state — some exempt camping fees, some apply a tourism surcharge. Treat it as a planning floor; the carrier-disclosed checkout will surface the exact tax line.
