What the NPS site won't tell you
The NPS rarely advertises this: a sunrise hike to the Lost Mine Trail (just 4.8 mi round-trip from Chisos Basin) gives you the most spectacular Chisos view at the most magical light. Cool desert air, distant rim of Sierra del Carmen in Mexico, golden light. Far fewer people than Window Trail.
