Founding placement across all 50 states. Real application + 1:1 onboarding in a dedicated session.
Why a state's founding hosts matter so much.
A marketplace is only real in your state when a renter can actually book there. The first verified hosts carry that weight — they anchor search, set the quality bar, and prove the corridor. We pay that back with placement, onboarding, and research, not with a discount we could not honestly bind pre-LLC.
- Same honest model as everyone: PickRV charges hosts a 15% commission, built into the listed price. Renters pay a transparent 10% service fee at checkout, plus state tax. No cliff surprises, no renegotiation. The only rate exception is the separate invite-only Pioneer grant (10% first year), issued individually in writing — never sold through this page.
- All your listings: the founding-host placement applies to every rig you list, not just the first one.
- Written terms: your placement and onboarding commitments are recorded as a rider to your Owner Listing Agreement — what you sign is what applies.
The exact math on a $1,000 base price
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Base price you set (your take-home) | $1,000.00 |
| PickRV commission built into the listed price | $150.00 (15%) |
| Listed price renters see | $1,150.00 |
| Renter service fee at checkout | $115.00 (10%) |
PickRV charges hosts a 15% commission, built into the listed price. Renters pay a transparent 10% service fee at checkout, plus state tax. The 15% commission is built into the listed price, not added as a separate line; the renter's 10% service fee is a separate, transparent checkout line. Every figure is computed in integer cents server-side. Stripe processing is passthrough.
What founding hosts get
Your listings anchor your state's pages from day one — state hub, city pages, and category surfaces — for as long as you hold founding-host status.
A dedicated team member walks your setup, listing optimization, and pricing strategy. We meet every founding host personally.
Our state research DB (park access windows, road and length limits, seasonal closures, tax notes) feeds proactive alerts so your calendar and rules stay ahead of demand shifts.
Founding hosts get a direct feedback line and regular calls with the team building the platform. What you flag shapes the roadmap.
When new surfaces, categories, or corridors open in your state, founding hosts get first access and co-marketing.
Placement and onboarding commitments are recorded as a rider to your Owner Listing Agreement — what you sign is what applies.
What a founding year could look like
Illustrative scenarios built from our state research data — projections, not guarantees. Your results depend on your rig, market, and calendar.
Texas (Padre Island + Chisos Basin)⌄
A founding host with a 4WD-capable towable could serve renters our research flags for Padre Island South Beach (four-wheel drive required between mile 5 and 60; the park does not tow vehicles out of the backcountry) and Chisos Basin (no RVs over 24 feet, no trailers over 20 feet). Moat alerts would surface TPWD state-park reservation windows and dark-sky demand. (Sources: NPS Big Bend / Padre Island, TPWD, editorMoat.)
Colorado (Rocky Mountain / Independence Pass)⌄
A founding host listing mountain-ready rigs would receive alerts for CDOT length restrictions (Independence Pass / Rabbit Ears >35ft) and Trail Ridge Road altitude effects (naturally aspirated gas Class A lose 28-33% horsepower at 12,183 ft; diesels 12-15%), plus the mid-Jun to mid-Sep afternoon-lightning pattern that shapes safe itineraries. (Sources: NPS, CDOT, NWS Boulder, editorMoat.)
New Hampshire (White Mountains)⌄
NH's 0% state income and sales tax is a structural margin advantage for a founding host serving renters from neighboring high-tax states. (Source: NH Dept. of Revenue, editorMoat.)
Florida (Everglades National Park)⌄
Park reservation-window alerts could help a founding host with a large rig position availability around prime campsite release dates. (Source: NPS, editorMoat.)
California (Joshua Tree)⌄
A CARB-compliant rig is structurally scarce in the CA rental pool; our research DB tracks where that scarcity bites and the alerts would flag it. (Source: CARB, editorMoat.)

FAQ
Do founding hosts pay a lower commission?
No. PickRV charges hosts a 15% commission, built into the listed price. Renters pay a transparent 10% service fee at checkout, plus state tax. The flat commission applies by default; the only exception is the separate invite-only Pioneer grant (10% first year), issued individually in writing. Founding-host status is about first-in-state placement, 1:1 onboarding, and state-research alerts — not a different rate.
Is founding placement still open in my state?
Founding placement is granted in verification order as hosts clear review. Once hosts start clearing verification we will show real per-state counts — derived from actual records, never a marketing counter.
Does founding-host status cover all my rigs?
Yes. First-in-state placement applies to every listing you publish — RVs, towables, and any other approved category.
What replaced the old founder-tier / State Pioneer program?
This program. Earlier drafts offered a reduced or lifetime founding commission; pre-LLC we could not honestly bind those terms, so they are retired. Every host is on the same flat commission, and founding hosts get placement and onboarding instead of a discount. The only rate exception is the separate invite-only pioneer grant — issued individually in writing, never sold through this page.
PickRV is pre-LLC. What does that mean for me?
We are operating as a sole proprietorship while finalizing the legal structure. Founding-host terms bind through a written rider to the Owner Listing Agreement at verification, and we keep you informed as the entity formalizes. This is a ground-floor opportunity, framed honestly.
Can I transfer my founding status if I sell my rig?
Founding status attaches to the host, not the vehicle. If you sell a rig and list another, your founding placement continues. Transfers to a different owner are assessed case-by-case in writing.
