Granite monzonite domes set the rig-length physics of every Joshua Tree campground. Jumbo Rocks, Hidden Valley, and White Tank squeeze sites between car-sized boulders that have been there 100 million years — the result is per-site caps that vary site-by-site rather than loop-wide. Black Rock and Cottonwood (the two non-rock-bound loops) are the consistent 35-ft options. None of the park's campgrounds have hookups OR a dump station — closest dump is in the gateway town of Twentynine Palms. The desert's peak RV season inverts the rest of California: October through April is high demand, June through August clears out as ambient temperatures break 105°F. Park Boulevard and Pinto Basin Road handle any rig length but the loop pull-ins shrink quickly.
