There is no road to Channel Islands National Park — the five islands sit 12-70 miles off the Ventura coast, and access is concessioner ferry (Island Packers) or private boat. RVs stage on the mainland at McGrath State Beach, Ventura Beach RV Resort, or the Channel Islands Harbor RV park while the visit itself is foot-and-day-pack to the island campgrounds (Santa Cruz Scorpion, Anacapa, Santa Rosa, Santa Barbara, San Miguel). Mainland visitor center parking in Ventura accepts RVs of any length at no charge for the day. The boat schedule and weather window define the trip more than any rig planning. Whale-watching boats run from the same harbor December through April and serve as a single-day add-on.
