Sailfish Marina of Stuart anchors the Manatee Pocket on Florida's Treasure Coast at the confluence of the St. Lucie River and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway — 196 slips, a 120-ft vessel-length cap on the outer T-head, and the marquee tournament-base marina for the Stuart sailfish fishery (the species the marina is named for, and the recognized billfish capital of the world per IGFA records). The marina holds no public boat ramps; trailerable launches happen at Phipps Park's Martin County ramp 2.5 miles northwest on the south fork of the St. Lucie. Channel-depth honesty matters here — the Manatee Pocket's natural channel runs 8 ft at MLW, the Army Corps maintains the ICW approach at 12 ft, and the St. Lucie Lock & Dam controls Lake Okeechobee discharges that periodically spike turbidity to the point that the marina recommends rinse-down after every saltwater run.
