Pelican Yacht Club sits on the south side of the Fort Pierce Inlet — one of only 4 deep-water inlets on Florida's east coast that accommodates Atlantic-bound vessels above 50 ft year-round (Jupiter, Lake Worth, and Boca to the south are tighter). The marina holds 140 mixed slips with a 65-ft vessel-length cap, year-round fuel and pumpout, and a dock layout that handles long-fin transient sportfishers north-running the Atlantic on the spring trade. Channel depth runs 10 ft at the marina basin and the Army Corps maintains the inlet at 28 ft for the commercial fishing fleet. RV-staging truth: the marina lot is car-only and the inlet area's restrictive parking ordinances ban overnight RV parking on city streets. Savannas Recreation Area (St. Lucie County, 60 sites, 30-amp + water, 40-ft rig cap) sits 4 miles west on Walton Road as the closest legal overnight RV basecamp.
