The short version of the split
When you book on PickRV, what you pay is published openly. The nightly rate you see is the whole nightly rate. At checkout you add one platform fee — a transparent 10% service fee on the rental subtotal — plus any cleaning fee and state tax, every line itemized before you pay. Cancel free up to 48 hours before pickup on every listing. That sentence is the canon — it is the same one shown across the site, not marketing rounding.
There is no drip pricing and no second fee waiting at the end: the nightly rate, the service fee, the cleaning fee and state tax are the whole list, and you see all four before you pay.
What renters pay (and don't)
On PickRV, the nightly listed price is a stable all-in number, and at checkout you pay one transparent 10% service fee plus applicable taxes, plus anything you choose to add. Every line is itemized — that's different from marketplaces that bury a renter-side fee inside a single inflated total or surface it only at the last step.
Payment processing (the card-network cost) is passed through at cost rather than marked up, and taxes are calculated for your trip's location. The goal is a checkout where you can see what each line is for, with no drip pricing.
- One transparent 10% service fee at checkout — itemized, not buried inside the nightly rate.
- The nightly listed price is stable and shown upfront, with no surprise line items.
- Taxes are calculated for your trip's location and shown before you pay.
- Card processing is passed through at cost, not marked up.
Coverage — bring your own
PickRV is not an insurer and does not sell or offer insurance coverage. You bring your own coverage — confirm your personal auto or RV policy covers rentals before pickup, since personal auto policies often exclude RVs and longer rentals.
We keep insurance carrier-neutral on purpose: PickRV does not name carriers or quote insurance prices. Because no coverage is sold through PickRV, confirm your own policy's rental coverage directly with your insurer before your trip.
Verify locally: PickRV is not an insurer and does not sell or offer insurance coverage. Confirm your personal auto/RV policy covers rentals before pickup.
Why the model favors everyone (honestly)
Because PickRV's 15% markup is thinner than the commission the large national marketplaces take out of their hosts, hosts can price competitively, which means renters generally pay a fair all-in total for the same rig class — and the commission plus the transparent renter service fee are what fund and run the platform. It's a three-sided model, and the numbers are published so you can check them rather than take our word for it.
