RV travel guide
Pima County
County seat Tucson, 9,189 sq mi across Arizona. Everything an RV traveler should read before rolling in — where you can boondock, the roads worth the detour, and the local rule that actually matters.

The county in brief
A traveler's read on Pima County
Mt. Lemmon at 9,159 ft is the southernmost ski area in the continental US — and the Catalina Highway from desert-floor Tucson (2,389 ft) to the summit crosses six Merriam Life Zones in 27 paved miles, the equivalent ecological diversity of driving from Mexico to Canada compressed into one switchback climb. Pima County wraps Tucson (population 542,629), both Saguaro NP districts, and the Tohono O'odham Nation's eastern reservation lands.
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on the Mexican border holds the only US population of organ-pipe cactus and is the most-southerly NPS unit in the contiguous 48 by latitude. Catalina State Park's RV-friendly loop accepts rigs up to 50 ft with electric+water hookups and is the only state-park loop in Pima County with full-service sites.
