What it is
A travel trailer is a towable RV that hitches to a receiver on the rear of the tow vehicle (technically a Class III, IV, or V receiver depending on weight).
Length range 12-35 ft. Dry weight typically 1,200 lbs (smallest Bullet) to 8,000 lbs (full-size 33-ft). GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating, the upper limit with all liquids and cargo loaded) typically 1,500-10,000 lbs.
Towing physics: tongue weight (the downward force the trailer applies to the tow vehicle's hitch) is typically 10-15% of trailer's loaded weight. Tongue weight affects the tow vehicle's payload, not its tow rating.

Pitfalls (honest)
Sway is the #1 first-timer problem — caused by passing tractor-trailers, side wind, downhill speed. WDH (weight-distribution hitch) with sway control is mandatory above approximately 5,000 lbs.
Backing a bumper-pull TT requires opposite-hand steering (turn the wheel the opposite way to push the trailer where you want it). Hosts include a backing lesson at pickup.
Loading too heavy in the rear of the TT shifts weight off the tongue and amplifies sway. Heavy gear should sit between the axles, not behind them.

Can I tow a TT with my SUV?
Most SUVs (Suburban, Tahoe, Sequoia) have a tow rating of 7,000-9,300 lbs. Pairing with a TT under 5,000 lbs GVWR is fine; over that, verify payload arithmetic and that the SUV has a Class IV receiver.
Is the WDH included?
Most PickRV TT rentals above 5,000 lbs GVWR include the WDH and hitch hardware. Lighter rentals may not need WDH; verify in the listing.
How long is the learning curve?
