Mid-April – mid-October
Morefield Campground holds 267 sites including 15 full-hookup RV pull-throughs at a 40-ft cap, runs mid-April through mid-October, and is the largest single concessioner-operated RV facility inside any national park. The trade-off is the four-mile access road from the entrance to the mesa top — a steady 4-5% grade with two switchbacks — and then a separate 21-mile drive each direction to the actual cliff dwellings at Chapin and Wetherill Mesas. Tour reservations for Cliff Palace, Balcony House, and Long House open two weeks ahead and sell out within hours all summer. The mesa-top loop roads accept any rig length to the major overlooks, but the Step House and Far View Sites pullouts shrink for 35-ft+ rigs. Dumping at Morefield, on-site.
