RV travel guide
Clark County
County seat Las Vegas, 7,891 sq mi across Nevada. Everything an RV traveler should read before rolling in — where you can boondock, the roads worth the detour, and the local rule that actually matters.

The county in brief
A traveler's read on Clark County
Clark County holds 72% of Nevada's population inside a county that is just 7% of the state's land area — the most-concentrated demographic skew of any US state county-by-county per Census 2020. Lake Mead National Recreation Area at 1.5 million acres is one of the largest NPS units outside Alaska, and the only NPS unit that wraps a hydroelectric reservoir (Hoover Dam) plus a wild river canyon system.
Las Vegas Valley sits at 2,030 ft in a Basin-and-Range fault block surrounded by Spring Mountains rising to 11,918 ft at Mt. Charleston. Valley of Fire State Park (Nevada's oldest, 1935) holds Aztec Sandstone red-rock formations accepting rigs to 40 ft on the Atlatl Rock and Arch Rock loops.
