The Grand Canyon of Texas — 120 miles long, 20 miles wide, 800 feet deep — and the entry road descends 700 vertical feet from the rim down to the canyon floor in a 10% grade that genuinely tests rig brakes. Hackberry, Mesquite, and Sagebrush Camping Areas hold 76 RV sites total with 30/50-amp electric and water hookups, 40-ft cap, year-round operation; the dump station sits near the visitor center on the rim. Big Cave and Cactus Camp are tent-only. The musical "TEXAS" runs in the Pioneer Amphitheater June through August and draws 80,000 spectators a season. Summer canyon-floor temperatures routinely break 100°F by mid-morning; the operational hiking window collapses to dawn and dusk June through September. Reservations open 5 months ahead and the entry-road descent caps practical RV length at the posted 40 ft.
