Year-round (peak: November – April)
Rio Grande Village RV Campground is the only full-hookup RV facility in the entire national park system south of I-20 in Texas — 25 sites, concessioner-operated by Forever Resorts, year-round, with a 40-foot cap. The trade-off is a 100-mile drive on US-385 from the nearest interstate exit and a 70-mile drive to the nearest grocery store of any size in Marathon or Alpine. Chisos Basin Campground accepts rigs up to 24 ft only — the basin road's 7° turn radius at the switchbacks above the campground is the gate. Cottonwood Campground in the Castolon area runs dry-camp with a 35-ft cap. Big Bend's RV season inverts Texas norms: November through April is peak, summer afternoons run 110°F+ at Rio Grande Village.
