Texas's largest state park at 311,000 acres — bigger than its national-park neighbor Big Bend NP downstream — and the access road network is brutally honest about it: most roads are high-clearance 4WD-only gravel where rangers will turn back any RV without warning. The two campgrounds where standard RVs work are Sauceda Ranger Station (12 sites, dry-camp, 30-ft cap, accessed via 27-mile improved gravel that's drivable in a Class C with good ground clearance) and Grassy Banks on the FM 170 river-road corridor (15 sites, no hookups, 30-ft cap, paved access). No dump station inside the park; closest is in Presidio (32 miles from Sauceda). RV season inverts Texas norms — November through April is peak, summer afternoons run 110°F+ with zero shade.
