Safety & Trust at PickRV
We built PickRV because we wanted to take our own kids on road trips without rolling the dice on a stranger's rig. This page is everything we put in place so you can do the same.
Hosts are vetted
3-step verification: government ID via Stripe Identity, rig title/registration upload, and a host onboarding review before the first listing goes live.
Real humans answer
Message your host in the booking thread; reach PickRV support at support@pickrv.com. Real humans read and answer — no chatbot mazes.
Roadside optional
Roadside assistance, where a host's own policy or membership includes it, is noted in your booking confirmation. PickRV does not sell coverage or operate its own roadside network.
Fraud protection
If the host or rig is sketchy on arrival, walk away. Booking frozen, full refund targeted within 24h. You're never forced to take a rig you don't trust.
Sick-kid flexibility
Good-faith refund process for family illness. No pediatrician note required. Repeat patterns trigger a review.
48-hour free cancellation
Cancel within 48h of booking AND ≥7 days before pickup = full refund. No hoops.
What host verification covers
Every live listing sits behind three checks: the host's government ID is matched through Stripe Identity, the rig's title and registration are uploaded and reviewed, and the PickRV team reviews the host's onboarding before the first listing goes live.
What it does not cover: an in-person mechanical inspection. Maintenance condition is self-reported by the host — read the listing's maintenance notes and message the host your questions before you commit.
In a medical or roadside emergency, dial 911 first.
PickRV cannot replace emergency services. For life-threatening situations, life-saving response always comes from local 911. After you are safe, contact PickRV support and we will mediate refunds, booking changes, and host accountability.
Non-emergency support: support@pickrv.com. Booking-related questions can also go directly between host and renter in the in-app booking message thread; support@pickrv.com is the channel for reaching PickRV itself.

Parent FAQ
Are hosts vetted before they can list?
Yes. Every host completes a 3-step verification: (1) government ID match via Stripe Identity, (2) rig title/registration upload, (3) a host onboarding review by the PickRV team. A listing does not go live until all three are complete.
Who do I call at 11pm if the rig breaks down with my kids inside?
In any emergency, call 911 first. For everything else, message your host through the booking thread in your account, or reach PickRV support at support@pickrv.com — both are read and answered by real humans, not a chatbot. Roadside assistance, where a host's own policy or membership includes it, is noted in your booking confirmation; PickRV does not sell coverage or operate its own roadside network.
Is the rig actually inspected, or is this just vibes?
PickRV does not perform in-person mechanical inspections. What is verified: the host's government ID (via Stripe Identity) and the rig's title and registration. Maintenance condition is self-reported by the host. We are honest about that distinction — read the listing's maintenance notes and message the host your questions before booking with kids.
What happens if the host turns out to be sketchy on arrival?
Walk away. Document the issue (photos, video, texts), then request a refund with reason 'fraud-suspected' from your booking. The booking is frozen, PickRV Trust & Safety reviews within 24 hours, full refund issued if confirmed. The host is suspended pending investigation. You are not required to take the rig if you feel unsafe.
Are car seats / kid harnesses provided?
No. Car seats and child restraints are renter-supplied per state law (you bring them, install them, and they must meet your state's age/weight requirements). Some hosts will store yours between trips for repeat bookings. If your trip includes driving with under-8 passengers, double-check the state laws on the listing's per-state info card.
What if my kid gets sick the morning of pickup?
See our Cancellation Policy — we operate on good faith for family illness. No pediatrician note required for first-time cancellations. Flexible-tier listings give you the most cushion. Buy trip insurance from a licensed broker for higher-stakes itineraries.
