PickRV is not an insurer.
We are a marketplace. PickRV does not place, underwrite, or sell coverage, earns no commission on coverage placement, and offers no insurance product today. Trips run on the coverage you and the host agree on — your own policy where it covers rental use, or the host's own commercial RV policy.
What is true today
- · Hosts maintain their own commercial RV insurance. PickRV requires proof of a valid policy at onboarding. The host's policy and limits are the controlling document for any claim involving the vehicle.
- · No coverage is sold through PickRV. There is no insurance partner today. If a licensed partner is contracted in the future, any coverage option would show the provider name, policy limits, and deductible before purchase. PickRV is not an insurance underwriter.
- · Personal effects are not covered. Use your existing homeowners or renters policy; consider an inland-marine rider for gear over $5,000.
- · Renters are responsible for any pre-existing damage not noted at pickup. Photograph every panel before driving off.
No rate card published
An earlier version of this page listed specific "Standard / Premium" tiers with $/day amounts and fixed deductibles. We removed that content. Publishing a rate card for an insurance product without producer authorization is regulated activity under state insurance codes; we will not show pricing until the carrier integration is live and carrier-quoted rates can be shown at checkout. See the formal Insurance Disclosure for the full notice.
FAQ
Is PickRV the insurer?+
No. PickRV is a technology platform connecting renters with hosts. PickRV does not solicit, place, underwrite, administer, sell, or earn commission on insurance, and no coverage is offered through PickRV today. Trips run on the coverage you and the host agree on before pickup.
What does the host already carry?+
Every host on PickRV is required to attest to maintaining valid commercial RV insurance as a condition of listing. Coverage scope and limits vary by host and by state; the host's certificate of insurance is the controlling document for damage to or operation of the host's vehicle.
Do I need my own insurance too?+
Personal auto policies often exclude RV rentals, Class A motorhomes, rigs longer than 30 feet, or any commercial use. Check the 'permissible uses' page of your policy and contact your insurer with specific questions before your trip. Many homeowners or renters policies cover personal effects worldwide; high-value gear may need a separate inland-marine rider.
Does PickRV sell insurance coverage?+
There is no coverage sold through PickRV today, and no carrier partnership to announce. If PickRV contracts a licensed insurance partner in the future, renters would see the carrier's name, NAIC number, coverage limits, deductible, and per-trip premium before payment — and could opt in or decline. We will update this page the day that changes.
What about roadside assistance?+
Roadside assistance, where a host includes it, comes from the host's own arrangements. Independent roadside/RV memberships are available separately from third-party providers — confirm scope with the host before your trip.
Can I drive a PickRV-listed RV into Mexico?+
No — PickRV listings are US-only and cross-border coverage into Mexico is not offered through PickRV. US auto policies cannot legally place Mexico auto liability — coverage must come from a CNSF-registered (Comisión Nacional de Seguros y Fianzas) Mexican-admitted carrier (per Mexican Insurance Law / LIISF Art. 5). PickRV does not recommend specific Mexican carriers or brokers (LIISF Art. 5 prohibits non-Mexican entities from offering or referring such coverage). For Mexico travel, consult an authorized CNSF-registered Mexican insurance provider directly before crossing the border.
