Refund Policy
Plans change. Mechanics fail. Storms roll in. Here is exactly when you qualify for a refund on PickRV, how much you get back, and how quickly the money returns to your account.
At a glance
- 48-hour full rental refund — cancel at least 48 hours before pickup and the rental charges come back in full, on every listing. Your host's exact tier (below) is shown on the listing and locked in at checkout.
- Mechanical failure at pickup = full refund, charged to the host. Photograph the failure at pickup.
- Force majeure (hurricane, wildfire, evacuation) = full refund of rental charges under the platform floor. Host payout follows the booking's payout rules.
- Bank posting: Stripe sends the credit to your original payment method. PickRV does not set when your bank posts it.
Refund tiers by host policy
Each host picks one of three tiers when listing their rig. The chosen tier is displayed on the listing page and locked into your booking at checkout.
Every refund window counts back from pickup time: 10:00 a.m. local time at the pickup location on the booking's start date, even if you and the host agree on a different handover time.

Edge cases we handle differently
Pre-trip mechanical failure
Engine won't start, brakes failing, generator dead, AC inoperable in summer states. Photograph the failure at pickup, message the host, and contact PickRV support. Full refund of rental charges, charged to the host. A person reviews the file.
Force majeure
Mandatory evacuation orders, FEMA federal emergency declarations, or active hurricane/wildfire warnings within your trip dates. Full refund of rental charges under the platform floor. Host payout follows the booking's payout rules. PickRV does not invent a separate host guarantee for weather.
Fraud suspected
If you suspect the host's identity, listing photos, or pricing are fraudulent, request a refund with reason 'fraud-suspected'. The booking is frozen. A person on Trust & Safety reviews the file. We do not quote a decision clock. A refund issues if the claim is confirmed.
FAQ
How long until my refund hits my bank?
When a cancellation qualifies, PickRV sends the refund to your original payment method through Stripe. Stripe then credits that method. PickRV does not set when your bank posts it. You can see the refund on the booking in your account.
What counts as a 'mechanical issue' that triggers a full refund?
Pre-trip mechanical failure (engine won't start, brakes failing, generator dead on arrival, AC inoperable in summer states) triggers a full refund charged to the host, NOT to you. The host is responsible for delivering a roadworthy rig. Photograph the failure at pickup, message the host, and contact PickRV support. A person reviews the file.
Hurricane / wildfire / evacuation order — what happens?
Mandatory evacuation orders, federal emergency declarations (FEMA), and active wildfire or hurricane warnings within your trip dates trigger the platform force-majeure floor: a 100% refund of rental charges under that floor. Host payout follows the booking's payout rules. PickRV does not invent a separate host guarantee for weather.
What if the host cancels on me?
Host-initiated cancellation = 100% refund. Hosts who repeatedly cancel confirmed bookings may have their listings paused or their account suspended.
Can I cancel for any reason?
Yes — you can cancel a booking yourself until its pickup time, the same pickup time every refund window counts back from. Once the pickup slot has passed, the trip is under way and support handles any change. The refund follows the host's cancellation tier (Flexible · Moderate · Strict) shown on the listing and locked into your booking at checkout; the full schedule for each tier is published in the table on this page, and the exact dollar amount is shown to you before you confirm the cancellation.
How do I actually request the refund?
Open the booking in your account dashboard → click 'Request refund' → pick a reason → submit. The system auto-evaluates the refund amount against the policy in real time. You'll see the exact dollar figure BEFORE you confirm. No surprises, no negotiation.
Still need help?
Email support@pickrv.com with your booking ID. If you are at pickup and the rig is not working, say so in the subject line. In an emergency on the road, call 911 first.
