Theodore Roosevelt National Park · caps RVs at 50 ft

The South Unit's Cottonwood Campground holds 76 sites at a 50-ft cap, runs year-round (water off in winter), dry-camp with a dump station. The North Unit's Juniper Campground is similar at a 35-ft cap, May through September. The two units sit 70 miles apart on I-94 with no connecting park road. Free-roaming feral horse bands — descended from settler stock and managed under a long-running NPS reduction program — are visible in the South Unit's Painted Canyon and Wind Canyon overlooks 80% of summer days per the park's wildlife sighting log. Scenic Loop Drive in the South Unit handles 50-ft rigs but the Juniper Loop in the North Unit narrows for 40-ft+ at the Oxbow Overlook turnaround.
