Carlsbad Caverns has no developed campground inside the park boundary at all — backcountry permits exist for tent camping in the Chihuahuan Desert section, but the road in and the day-use parking are the only RV-relevant infrastructure. The visitor center parking lot accepts RVs of any length for the daytime visit; overnighting requires staging at Brantley Lake State Park (12 miles), White's City RV Park (8 miles), or the BLM dispersed corridors east of Whites City. Tour reservations are the actual planning constraint — Big Room Trail entry timed-entry tickets and ranger-led tours both sell out 30+ days ahead spring through fall. The Bat Flight Program runs May through October and uses the natural cave entrance amphitheater, free with park admission.
