Florida tax, line by line
The Florida rate stack behind that tax line
Florida RV rentals owe 6% state sales tax (§ 212.05) plus a discretionary county surtax of typically 1% (§ 212.054) — both collected at checkout. The $2/day rental-car surcharge does NOT apply: Rule 12A-16.002(1)(c)2 expressly excludes RVs with living facilities, travel/camping trailers, and van conversions. A separate $1/day peer-to-peer car-sharing surcharge (§ 212.0606(3)) may apply to drivable RVs booked through a platform — under legal review, not currently collected.
Statute-anchored: Fla. Stat. § 212.05 (state sales tax) · Fla. Stat. § 212.054-.055 (discretionary surtax) · Fla. Admin. Code R. 12A-16.002(1)(c)2 ($2/day surcharge does NOT cover RVs with living facilities) · Fla. Stat. § 212.0606(3) ($1/day p2p surcharge — under legal review for drivable RVs)
