Glacier County is 74% Blackfeet Reservation land — the largest Tribal-majority county in Montana — and any RV stay on Reservation lands outside Browning's town limits requires a Blackfeet Tribal Recreation Permit ($10/day or $30/year for non-Tribal members), sold at the Tribal Headquarters office and at most Browning convenience stores.
The county wraps Glacier NP's eastern entrances at St. Mary, Many Glacier, and Two Medicine, with US-89 from St. Mary north to the Canadian border at Chief Mountain the scenic spine. St. Mary Visitor Center sits at 4,500 ft and is the practical eastern terminus of Going-to-the-Sun Road. Babb (population 174) holds the only fuel pump for 60 miles north of the Many Glacier turnoff.
