The van-scale park one mile from Main Street: full-hookup pull-throughs at about $85, with standard sites sized for rigs to 25 feet — exactly the inventory a van books that big rigs cannot. Walk to dinner in a town whose ordinance forbids every overnight parking shortcut, and use the $5 dump on the way out.
Free camping 4 miles from town on the road that fades from pavement to dirt: sites suit rigs to 30 feet, the BLM 14-day limit applies, and the guide's arrive-before-sunset rule matters on the unlit final stretch. For a self-contained van this is the honest Moab experience — red rock at the door, zero dollars a night.
No timed-entry reservation in 2026, but Delicate Arch, Devils Garden, and Windows lots fill by 8 a.m. March through October, and the park may pause entry when they do. The van play is the guide's own advice operationalized: arrive before 7 a.m. — coffee brewed en route — or take the after-5 window when the lots exhale and the light goes gold.

Good to know
No — Moab Municipal Code 10.04.230 prohibits vehicle habitation and overnight camping on streets, alleys, and private property within city limits, with impound possible after four hours in violation, and code 8.20.010 bans camping in undesignated areas. Vans get no exemption. The legal answers are the in-town campgrounds or BLM land starting a few miles out.
Timing. With reservations gone, the constraint is parking — the marquee lots fill by 8 a.m. in season — and a van turns the guide's before-7-or-after-5 rule into a lifestyle: sleep four miles out, roll at dawn, fit any parking space, and carry breakfast. Rigs that need 40 feet of parking fight the same clock with none of those advantages.
Better than most rigs: Kane Creek's dirt transition and 30-foot site scale suit vans naturally, and Willow Springs' larger pads are trivial. The rules still apply — 14-day BLM limit, arrive before sunset per the guide, pack out everything — and the Moab Information Center's current dispersed map is worth grabbing, since closures shift seasonally.
