Land-speed racing on the salt — hot rods chasing 300+ mph on a lakebed like nowhere else on Earth. Bring your truck, pick the trailer.
Tow the trailer to Wendover, set it up, and take only the tow vehicle out onto the lakebed. Salt works into brake hardware, spring packs and the underside of a trailer frame far more readily than a rinse hose gets it back out, and a trailer that spent a week parked on the flats carries it home with you. If you do drive out, rinse the truck the same day.
Wind is the second reason to leave the trailer in town: there is no shelter anywhere on the lakebed, and an awning left out will not survive an afternoon. Base in Wendover on the Utah-Nevada line, where the KOA runs full hookups, or in dispersed camping off the access road.
Towables listed by the people who own them — you book the owner direct.
Local owners list their own rigs here. Pick your nights and you get one email when one is listed for them.
