RV travel guide
Sublette County
County seat Pinedale, 4,885 sq mi across Wyoming. Everything an RV traveler should read before rolling in — where you can boondock, the roads worth the detour, and the local rule that actually matters.

The county in brief
A traveler's read on Sublette County
The Wind River Range holds the largest glacier system in the lower 48 — Gannett Glacier on Gannett Peak (Wyoming's high point at 13,809 ft) plus 60+ named glaciers, ice masses USGS measurements show have lost 40% of surface area since 1985 satellite mapping began. Sublette County wraps the western Wind River Range, the Green River headwaters, and the Bridger Wilderness, with Pinedale (population 1,929) the only town with full-service grocery and diesel.
The county is the most lightly-trafficked gateway to the Wind Rivers, with the New Fork Lake and Half Moon Lake USFS campgrounds accepting rigs up to 30 ft on first-come basis. The Green River Lakes section at the road's northern terminus holds the only legal RV access to the western Wind River Wilderness boundary.
