Trailer-specific timing: Wekiwa Springs releases sites at 8 a.m. daily for dates 11 months out (10 for non-residents) and summer Saturdays are gone in 15 minutes, while the Kissimmee resorts hold 12-month windows with far less drama. Avoid late August through early October: peak hurricane season means a possible evacuation with a trailer in tow on a jammed I-4, and daily 4-6 p.m. supercells make every afternoon hitch-up a soaking.

In unincorporated Orange County, only with a county Boat/RV permit pulled before you arrive — placement, screening, and setback rules apply, and code enforcement responds to neighbor complaints against both the property owner and the visitor. Inside Orlando city limits, residential street parking is off the table entirely. A licensed park is the reliable answer.

Fort Wilderness is inside the gates but books 499 days out by phone for peak weeks. Wekiwa Springs at $24 is the nature-day counterweight, 16 miles north.
