Timing
December through March is the window that works: average highs of 75-80 F, humidity around 60%, near-zero hurricane risk, and the Everglades campgrounds open for the dry season. The Atlantic hurricane window runs June 1 to November 30, and August through October is the stretch to skip — daily 90 F thunderstorms, closed Everglades campgrounds, and evacuation-zone risk for coastal sites. One calendar trap: the Miami International Boat Show (typically February) fills every campground south of Fort Lauderdale roughly three months ahead, with weekday rates running 2-3x and minimum-stay requirements, so a February motorhome trip needs its site reserved by late fall.

The Miami-Dade County workhorse, 18 miles from the city: 240 sites with full electric, sewer, and water hookups, rigs to 45 feet, around $48 a night with a 6-month reservation window. The on-site dump station is free — the closest legitimate public dump to the urban core — which makes this the default first-night base for any motorhome arrival.
The Encore resort 22 miles out: paved full-hookup sites with 30/50-amp service for rigs to 45 feet, about $89 a night, and a booking window that opens 12 months ahead. This is the comfort pick for bigger Class A coaches, and its dump station takes non-guests for $25 if your route home runs past it.
Inside Everglades National Park, 40 miles from Miami and open November through May only. Dry camping for rigs to 35 feet at $33 a night with a dump station on site, booked on Recreation.gov 6 months out — February and March weekends sell out within about 24 hours of release, so set the alarm for the window opening.
The far end of the park road, 58 miles out, where the Everglades trip actually pays off. Select sites carry partial hookups, the campground takes rigs to 45 feet at about $50 a night, and there is a dump station on site — the deepest legal overnight a motorhome can get into the park.

No. Miami Beach Code Chapter 106 bans any vehicle over 7 feet tall or 21 feet long from public streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., which covers Class A rigs, most Class C rigs, and most travel trailers. Tow plus impound runs $250-500 before fines, and a meter receipt does not override the rule. Plan to be at your campground by midnight.
