Timing
October through April is the season, with the festival overlays to plan around: SXSW (mid-March, 12-month booking, 3-5x rates), ACL (two early-October weekends, 3x with 5-night minimums), F1 (typically late October, eastern parks booked a year out), and the Texas Relays (early April, 2x). For trailers specifically, July-August heat is a double tax — 95-105 F days cook an unhitched trailer, and the basin humidity gives nights little relief. The flash-flood discipline matters most to towables camped on lower loops: Onion Creek and the Pedernales rise 10-15 feet in 30 minutes, and moving a trailer uphill takes longer than moving a van. Book state parks at the 5-month window, 8 a.m. Central, first attempt.

The Hill Country west leg: 69 water-and-electric sites to 35 feet at $24 with Pedernales River access, 33 miles out. Size matters here — the 35-foot cap excludes the biggest fifth-wheels, so a mid-size travel trailer books scenery the big rigs can't. Same 5-month window, same flash-flood respect on the river loops.
What it costs

The 72-hour cap in §12-2 applies to continuous street parking, oversize vehicles are banned from downtown commercial zones entirely, and §9-4-11's no-camping rule removes the overnight question.
