Allegheny NF — Kinzua Bridge Corridor

Pennsylvania's only national forest holds Kiasutha and Red Bridge — two of the rare USFS-operated developed loops east of the Mississippi to publish ELECTRIC hookups, courtesy of a concessioner arrangement that predates the typical USFS dry-camp norm. Both loops cap rigs at 35 feet; Kiasutha holds 91 sites, Red Bridge 55, with the only USFS dump station for 60 miles at Kiasutha. The Kinzua Bridge State Park (a quarter mile off the forest boundary) preserves the partially-collapsed 2,053-ft railroad viaduct toppled by a 2003 tornado — the surviving towers form a glass-decked Skywalk that's the corridor's signature visit. Dispersed camping is allowed along most Forest Service roads under the Allegheny MVUM. Heart-of-the-Forest winter snowfall closes most gravel spurs December through March.
