The New York window to avoid
January through February — winter storms and harbor-area lot closures.
What that mistake costs
Most Manhattan bridges and tunnels have RV restrictions; Holland Tunnel bans propane-equipped vehicles
Day one, after you pick the rig up
- Top off propane at U-Haul of West Side, 620 W 57th St, New York, NY 10019, on arrival day if tanks read below 30%.
- Drive direct to Liberty Harbor RV Park — NYC Traffic Rules 4-08 restricts overnight on-street parking in residential zones.
- Verify scenic-drive open status on Hudson River Heritage National Scenic Byway (some seasonal closures).
