More on Arches National ParkField notes, rig limits by loop, seasons, what to do, quiet spots
Arches National Park preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches across 76,000 acres in eastern Utah, just north of Moab. The single in-park campground — Devils Garden — has 50 sites at the road's end, all reservable 6 months out via Recreation.gov; popular weekends fill within 3 minutes of release. Since 2022, NPS requires a timed-entry permit ($2) for all park visits between April 1 and October 31, 7am-4pm — book on Recreation.gov 3 months ahead OR snag a same-day at 7pm. Moab itself has 8+ private RV parks within 20 minutes if Devils Garden is full.
The notes below are PickRV's editorial record. Only the figures in the strip at the top of the page, each with its link and date, were re-read on the park's own pages.

What the official site doesn't tell you
PickRV editor's field notes
NPS.gov tells you Devils Garden is the only in-park camping but doesn't mention that NPS releases 6-8 'cancellation' sites at 6:00am Mountain Time daily — refresh Recreation.gov in the wee hours and you get sites that look booked. Second: the timed-entry permit is required even for VEHICLES PARKED at Devils Garden — campers entering the park gate must show their entry permit too, even with a paid campsite. Third: Delicate Arch trail (the Utah license plate icon) becomes a death-march by 9am in summer (no shade); the smart play is hike at sunrise (4:30am leave) or sunset, in fall/winter avoid the latter half because trail freezes. Fourth: Sand Dune Arch (10-min hike from parking) is perfect with kids — the sand floor cushions falls and the natural amphitheater echoes vocals — locals call it 'kid yoga.' Fifth: Moab itself charges $9-12/gal for fresh water at private RV parks if you need to refill mid-trip — top off at Moab city park instead (free with a nominal trash fee).
