It is unlawful to set up, use or maintain any vehicle or camper for the purpose of camping, lodging, sleeping or cooking, or to establish a temporary place of rest, on any private OR public property within the Williams city limits — including land owned or managed by any local, state or federal agency — unless an exception applies.

The camping ban does not apply to parking a vehicle, camper or recreational vehicle for less than 24 hours with the express or implied consent of the property owner or managing agency — unless the property is conspicuously posted against it, or an authorised agent asks you to move within the 24-hour window.

What this means for you: One night with permission is legal; the 24th hour is the cliff. And permission evaporates the moment a manager asks you to move or a sign says no — the sign wins over verbal consent.
Parking any vehicle, camper or recreational vehicle in any location for more than 24 hours, when not on your own real property, is prima facie evidence of intent to violate the camping ordinance. A violation is a Class 1 misdemeanour punishable by up to a $2,500 fine, six months in jail, or both.

What this means for you: The city does not have to prove you slept in the rig — 24 hours parked is enough to shift the burden onto you. This is a criminal misdemeanour in Williams, not a parking ticket.
