Within day-trip radius, Cape Henlopen State Park and Delaware Seashore State Park stage the deeper scenic agenda. The dump station most rigs use is Cape Henlopen State Park; propane refill at U-Haul of Rehoboth (19474 Coastal Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971). The local-calendar tripwire is Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (first week of November) — boardwalk and route 1 traffic peaks; coastal campgrounds at 90% capacity.
Best stays land in Late May through mid-June and September; the season to avoid is August. The mistake the local visitor bureau warns about is trying to overnight anywhere on the boardwalk or rehoboth avenue — 21-ft length cap and meter enforcement run 24/7 in summer; tow penalty $200+.

Timing your trip

Parking ordinances that bite RVs
Any vehicle (or connected combination) 22 ft 3 in or longer, or 8 ft 1 in or wider, and any trailer of any size, may not be parked, stored or left on any street within Rehoboth Beach — and may not be parked, stored or left anywhere inside the city limits except under the narrow exceptions listed in the same section.
Citation: Rehoboth Beach Code of Ordinances § 92-38(A) (Parking restricted for certain vehicles)
What this means for you: This is stricter than a normal overnight ban: it is a length/width cap that reaches private property too, and almost every Class A, Class C and travel trailer exceeds 22 ft 3 in. There is no legal way to leave a full-size rental RV on a Rehoboth Beach street at any hour. Plan to base the rig at a campground outside the city and arrive by bike, shuttle or tow car.
An oversized vehicle or combination may be parked in the municipal parking lot next to the City's Municipal Building, but only in areas designated by the City Manager and only after first obtaining a permit.
Citation: Rehoboth Beach Code of Ordinances § 92-38(A)(1) (Parking restricted for certain vehicles)
What this means for you: This is the single legal on-island parking option for an oversized rig, and it is permit-only and discretionary. Contact the City Manager's office before you drive in — turning up without the permit leaves you with nowhere lawful to stop.
A trailer under 22 ft 3 in long and under 8 ft 1 in wide may be left on a Rehoboth Beach street for up to 48 hours total in any six-month period.
Citation: Rehoboth Beach Code of Ordinances § 92-38(A)(2) (Parking restricted for certain vehicles)
What this means for you: Small teardrop and pop-up trailers get a narrow allowance, but the budget is 48 hours per six months, not 48 hours per visit. A second weekend trip in the same half-year can put you over the limit.
