Rehoboth Beach has its own arrival logistics. The first night usually means Big Oaks Family Campground, and tanks empty for free at Cape Henlopen State Park. One street-parking ordinance applies to RVs here — cited in full in the arrival guide.
Street parking reality

Skip the classic mistake
Trying to overnight anywhere on the boardwalk or Rehoboth Avenue
Best window: Late May through mid-June and September — sub-90 F coastal temperatures, ocean still warm…
The Rehoboth Beach window to avoid
August — peak boardwalk traffic doubles drive times, DE-1 corridor congestion.
What that mistake costs
21-ft length cap and meter enforcement run 24/7 in summer; tow penalty $200+
Day one, after you pick the rig up
- Top off propane at U-Haul of Rehoboth, 19474 Coastal Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, on arrival day if tanks read below 30%.
- Drive direct to Big Oaks Family Campground — Rehoboth Beach Code Sec. 235-29 restricts overnight on-street parking in residential zones.
- Verify scenic-drive open status on Delaware Coastal Heritage Greenway (DE-1) (some seasonal closures).
