Timing
November through mid-April is the season — 65-80 F days, 40-55 F nights, almost no rain — and it is also peak snowbird and event season, so reservations need to be in hand 4-12 months ahead. Lost Dutchman's 12-month window opens exactly when you want the dates; the Maricopa County parks run 6-month windows. The WM Phoenix Open (typically early February) books resorts within 30 miles to 100% four to six months out, and the snowbird arrival wave from November through mid-January drops nightly availability at the big 55+ resorts below 5%. June through mid-September is the season to refuse: 110-118 F days, overnight lows above 90 F, and RV air conditioners that cannot pull interiors below roughly 95 F.

The in-metro, all-ages private park 18 miles out: 220-plus full-hookup sites with 30/50-amp on concrete pads at about $54 a night, booking 12 months ahead. During the Phoenix Open and NASCAR weekends this is exactly the kind of park the guide says surges 2-3x — reserve it like the event ticket it effectively is.
