Camping is prohibited anywhere — including the shoreline — within the Wahweap, Stateline, Antelope Point, Horseshoe Bend, Dangling Rope, Bullfrog, Halls Crossing, Hite and Lees Ferry developed areas, excluding the designated campgrounds within them. Camping is also prohibited within 100 feet of any paved road or campground access road, and within 300 feet of any structure, launch ramp or airstrip.

Wahweap Campground allows a maximum of 2 vehicles per site, counting camper trailers and boats, with a maximum of 8 people and 2 tents per individual site. All vehicles and trailers at Wahweap and Bullfrog must be parked on pavement within the site, and tents must be on the facility pads.

Operating generators and audio devices is prohibited between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (quiet hours) in developed or established campgrounds. During permitted hours, generators must be adequately muffled and must not create excessive noise as defined in 36 CFR 2.12. Lake Powell summer nights do not cool off, and eight hours with no generator means eight hours with no roof air unless you have a hookup site or serious battery. Note the compendium warns visitors that they are responsible for knowing which time zone they are in.

Camping within Glen Canyon NRA for more than 14 consecutive days, or more than 30 days total in the park within a calendar year, is prohibited. A break in occupancy requires the site to be vacant of people and all equipment for at least one camping-day, which runs from noon to 11:59 a.m. the following day. Long-stay RV travellers hit this one. Moving to a different site does not reset the annual 30-day budget, and the 'break' requires you and all your gear to be gone for a full noon-to-noon day.
