The campground holds 200 sites with 30/50-amp electric and water hookups at a 40-ft cap, March through December operation, with the dump station near the entrance. Reservations open 11 months ahead through Reserve America. The bald cypress swamp and the Atlantic dune system support distinct northern and southern ecological communities that intersect nowhere else on the Atlantic coast — a National Natural Landmark designation rests on that overlap. The campground sits across the Atlantic Avenue road from beach access; rig parking and beach-day staging is one of the rare Virginia coastal options that doesn't require a 10-mile shuttle.
