Eastern US low-clearance reality
New York to Massachusetts. Where the historical infrastructure meets modern RVs. Plan carefully.
The Eastern US has the densest concentration of low-clearance bridges, tunnels, and parkway restrictions in the United States. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts all have parkway systems where commercial vehicles (including RVs) are prohibited regardless of clearance. The reality is that the East requires deliberate route planning.

What AAA + RV-LIFE forums doesn't tell you
AAA's TripTik does account for vehicle dimensions when requested but defaults to passenger-vehicle routing. RV-LIFE and Roadtrippers similarly require explicit RV-mode selection.
The honest framing: the Eastern US can be navigated in any size RV but requires deliberate routing. Don't assume your GPS knows. Verify before each transit.
