What's actually on the loop
Sand Beach (only sandy beach in Acadia), Thunder Hole (surf-cave landmark), Otter Cliff, Jordan Pond House (popovers + pond views), Bubble Rock, and Cadillac Mountain are the marquee stops. The loop is one-way for the eastern half — direction matters when planning.
Blackwoods Campground and Seawall Campground are the two NPS campgrounds with RV-friendly sites. Reserve via Recreation.gov well in advance. Multiple private RV parks in Bar Harbor.
Cadillac Mountain at 1,530 ft is the highest point on the US Atlantic coast. From October through March, sunrise on Cadillac is the first sunrise in the US (technically — first place the sun touches US soil that morning). The 22-ft length limit and the reservation system both manage the demand.

NPS does an excellent job describing Acadia but the RV-specific guidance is limited. The 22-ft Cadillac summit limit affects every Class A and most Class C motorhomes. Plan accordingly.
Visit Maine markets the broader Maine coast around Acadia. For RV travelers, the gateway towns (Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Trenton) all have RV-friendly services. The Mount Desert Island Bridge has no posted RV restrictions; even big rigs can reach the island.
The Island Explorer shuttle deserves emphasis. It's free, propane-powered, and runs the full loop. Many RV travelers prefer to park the rig at a campground and ride the shuttle — easier and more relaxing.
