Payouts · for hosts
How you get paid — the exact math.
You set a base price and keep all of it; PickRV adds a flat markup on top of it, and renters pay a separate transparent service fee — and this page shows the entire journey of one booking in exact dollars. Below: a $100/night base over 3 nights, walked from the renter's checkout screen to your bank deposit. Every figure is computed live from the same canonical constants the payment engine uses, so the split shown here and the split that pays you cannot drift apart — they are the same code. A worked example, not a promise: it shows how a booking splits, never how many bookings to expect.
$300
reaches you on this booking — your full base rate, itemized to the cent.
15%
flat markup PickRV adds on top of your base — shown inside the listed price.
$0
card-processing cost to you — PickRV pays it out of its own side.
One booking, both sides of the ledger.
Your base: $100/night × 3 nights. The listed price includes PickRV's 15% commission, so the listing shows $115/night. Here is what the renter pays — and what reaches you.
What the renter pays at checkout
- Rental (3 nights × $115)
- $345
- PickRV service fee (10%)
- $34.50
- Estimated state tax (illustrative 6%)
- $20.70
The listed nightly price — your base rate with PickRV's commission already baked in.
The renter's line, shown openly on the checkout screen before payment.
A renter-paid passthrough calculated at checkout from the pickup state's actual rules.
These add up to the $400.20 renter checkout total — to the cent, nothing hidden.
Where the listed rental subtotal goes
- You receive (3 nights × $100 base)
- $300
- PickRV commission (15%)
- $45
The full base price you set — the invariant the payout engine is tested on.
Included in the listed price the renter sees — itemized here to the cent.
These add up to the $345 listed rental subtotal — to the cent, nothing hidden.
The $34.50 service fee and the $20.70 tax are renter-side checkout lines in addition to the subtotal — neither ever touches your $300. Tax shown at the 6% national default seed for illustration; your pickup state's actual rules apply at checkout.
Cleaning fee
Set your own cleaning fee — a $80 fee reaches the host side as $80, per the same canon split table the engine uses. The renter pays it as its own line; PickRV takes no slice.
Partner rate
The partner rate drops the commission to 10%: the same base lists at $110/night and PickRV's side shrinks to $30 on this booking. Your take-home stays $300. The partner rate comes either with a personal invitation from our team, or automatically once you have 3 or more active listings.
Timing
Payouts run through Stripe Connect straight to your linked bank account — released after the trip wraps up, then typically landing within 2–5 business days. Your first payout can take longer while Stripe verifies your account. No invoicing, no chasing.
FAQ
When does the money land?+
Your payout is released after the trip wraps up, then typically reaches your linked bank account within 2–5 business days — the first payout can take longer while Stripe verifies your account.
Who pays card processing?+
PickRV does. Card processing (Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 per charge) comes out of PickRV's side of the transaction, not out of your payout.
What happens to my cleaning fee?+
It passes through to the host side in full — $80 of the $80 example fee above. The renter pays it as its own checkout line; PickRV takes no slice of it.
What changes at the partner rate?+
Only PickRV's side. The markup added on top of your base drops from 15% to 10% — the same $100 base lists at $110/night instead of $115/night, and you still receive the full base. A sharper public price, identical take-home. The partner rate comes either with a personal invitation from our team, or automatically once you have 3 or more active listings. Partner hosts carry a 10% markup instead of the standard 15% — for as long as they host with us, with no end date.
Is this example a promise of earnings?+
No — it is arithmetic, not a forecast. It shows how any single booking splits, not how many bookings to expect. We don't publish a typical-host earnings figure until we have a statistically meaningful sample (FTC §255.2). Model your own scenario in the earnings calculator.
