NYC → Philly → Boston: a 10-day WC 2026 RV trip

Overview

The Northeast corridor is the easiest WC RV trip for a first-time international visitor: short driving legs, dense RV park availability, and three host venues inside a 250-mile arc. Total fuel for a Class C runs $280 to $360 at June 2026 pump prices; tolls add $90 to $130 with an E-ZPass installed at the depot.

Day 1–2: Land JFK, pick up Class C, settle in north Jersey

Fly into JFK, transfer to a depot in northern New Jersey (typically Lyndhurst or Carlstadt). Depot pickup runs 90 to 120 minutes for a first-time international renter. Settle the first two nights at Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City — the only RV park inside the NYC transit zone, with PATH connections to Manhattan in 12 minutes.

Day 3: MetLife Stadium match day

MetLife is a 20-minute drive from Liberty Harbor on a weekday morning, 45 minutes on match day. Lot J opens five hours before kickoff. Bring the oversize pass printed and tabbed to the inside of the windshield. Plan to leave by ninety minutes after the final whistle to clear the exit queues.

Day 4: NJ Turnpike to Philadelphia

The drive south is 110 miles, two hours with light traffic. Choose between KOA Philadelphia / West Chester (cleaner facilities, 35-minute drive to the stadium) and Timberlane Campground in Clarksboro (shorter drive, more basic). Both have full hookups and accept Class C up to 32 feet.

Day 5: Lincoln Financial Field match day + Reading Terminal

Lincoln Financial uses Lot K for oversize vehicles. Pass required, no overnight. After the match, drive into Center City for an early dinner at Reading Terminal Market — RVs cannot park here, so use the Independence Visitor Center garage and walk three blocks.

Day 6: I-95 north to Mystic, CT

Use this day as a deliberate mid-trip reset. Mystic Seaport is RV-friendly, the Seaport Marine RV park is walkable to the village, and the drive north breaks up the long haul to Boston. Total miles today: 220. Total drive: four hours.

Day 7–8: Boston / Foxborough

Normandy Farms RV Resort in Foxborough is the standard WC base for Gillette match-day travelers — 15 minutes from the stadium, full hookups, and a hard-to-beat tailgate culture. Book this RV park first, then back out the rest of the itinerary; Normandy Farms sells out 9+ months ahead for marquee New England fixtures.

Day 9: Gillette Stadium match day

Gillette permits overnight RV stays for designated dates with an advance pass — confirm on the venue site before you assume it's available for your match. Tailgate window opens four hours before kickoff. Patriot Place dining is walkable from the lot if you skip the on-rig grill.

Day 10: Return leg + dropoff

Foxborough to the northern NJ depot is 220 miles, four to five hours with afternoon traffic on I-95. Most depots require dropoff by 2 PM; plan an early departure. Build in 60 minutes for fuel-up to full and gray/black tank dump at a Pilot Flying J or Love's along the route.
