Dinosaur Valley State Park: An RV Traveler's Guide

The tracks here were made long ago when dinosaurs walked through mud at the edge of an ancient ocean; that mud later hardened, and the Paluxy River has since exposed the footprints in its limestone bed. The result is one of Texas's most famous places to stand beside genuine dinosaur trackways.

Because the prints lie in the riverbed, Texas Parks & Wildlife notes they are not always visible — high water can cover them and trail conditions vary. The park recommends checking current trail status and track visibility before a visit.
