The primary RV anchor is Tuttle Creek State Park (5 mi north of Manhattan), where Kansas DNR operates four separate camping areas (River Pond, Spillway, Randolph, Fancy Creek) totaling 400+ sites with mix of full hookups, water/electric, and primitive. Reservations open through the Kansas State Parks portal 12 months ahead — competition for River Pond electric sites on K-State football weekends is intense.
Konza Prairie Biological Station (managed by K-State + The Nature Conservancy) is the educational anchor for tallgrass ecology with public hiking trails. Manhattan Municipal Code Chapter 10 prohibits on-street RV overnighting. Propane: Suburban Propane Manhattan.
